Mr J Jones, auctioneer, Auckland reports for week ending July Ith : — The market is steady and values in most lines are about the same as last week. Local potatoes ara almost finished. Onions are in heavy supply. Pumpkins and swedes are now in slightly better demand. The fruit market is steady. Poultry came forward in very large numbers and last week's values wee fully maintained., Turkeys aro in very heavy supply ; the j majority are on the poor side. Good ! conditioned birds are in strong demand. I Pigs were short and demand was firm. | Pullets of good quality are in strong j demand. Quotations : — Poultry (1600 penned): Roosters, prime 3s Gd to 4s 3d, good -U to 3s 2d, other 2s to lis OJ ; hens, Is '.hi to 2s Gd, pullets 2s to [is lid (according to breed and size) ; ducks, "is to :5s -Id ; geese, os Gd to -is cJd; turkeys, gobblers 7s to 14s 3d, according to size, hen turkeys, 33 (id to 03 fld.
