FOOTBALL.

BAY OF PLENTY RUGBY UNION.

The executive of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union met at the Masonic Hotel at^B o'clock last night, and adjourned to the Bay of Plenty Club's room at 10 p.m., finaTly adjourning at about midnight. Messrs Parata (president), Vercoe, Steele, Chadban, A. Montgomery, Poole, Dodsori, Dowling, F. H. Hammond, Hi\k?, Hall, McKenzie. and Asher were present, also Secretary T. Mitchell.

Much important business was discussed i>nJ put through, as follows: — A match with Auckland on June 3rd, was approved, to be played in Auckland.

An A and B mat h at Rotorua was fixed for 25th Jnst., in '.order to allow, the selectors, Mes-rs Parata, Montgomery and Rongo to felect the rep., team to play Auckland on the 3rd prox.

Tt was resolved that the sub-union contribute £5 os towards the expenses of the rep. team to Auckland A sum of £31 10s was guaranteed during the evening.

It was resolved that the telegraphic code word for the Bay of Plenty Union be"Rubgy."

Resolved that meetings of the executive be held at Te Puke, Whakatane, Opotikf arid Taupo during the year. The delegate to the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr Parata, was instructed to support notices of motion submitted by the Wanganui, Hawke's Bay and Taranaki Unions for coniideration by the parent body at Wellington on the 16th instant.

The usual vot? of thanks to th<' chair terminated the meeting.

A final, reminder is given of ths meeting to be held in the Commercial Hotel tomorrow evening in regard to the proposed formation of an Association Football Club. All interested in the game are invited to attend.

A match has been arranged for next Saturday,-'in thj Domain, between the Stare and Te Puke United. The Star team will be selected tonight, and any member of last week's team unable to play on Saturday is requested to inform the secretary as early as pussible. The Star players will have a much harder proposition this week than fell to their lot last Saturday, so it behoves each player to get as much practice as possible.
