TERRIBLE EXPLOSION IN A POWDER FACTORY.
[reuter's telegrams.] ■.■ Melbourne, February 23. A terrible explosion occurred at noon -to-day at Arblastor's Military Gunpowder Factory,. Job's (Mly, Sandhurst. The explosion was heard for miles around. It originated in a room where the powder was compressed by hydraulic power. ,_.- The magazine, however, has hot yet ex--ploded. 1 Melbourne, February 24. ! By the explosion' at Sandhurst sii operatives lost their lives, their bodies being literally roasted. Two other workmen were seriously injured. i xinother death haß occurred from injuries received at the gunpowder explosion at S andhurßt. The man ager, Mr Roehumann, remains in a critical state.
