Constable McCluskcy goes to Katikati today to take charge of the Police Station at Waterford. He is an old and experienced member of the force, and the residents in the district are to be congratulated on the appointment of such, an efficient officer for the place. Now that the Police Station and Court House Buildings have been finished and occupied, we hope the Telegraph Department will co-operate in forwarding the interests of the district by establishing a branch office there, as Bowentown is very inconvenient for the great mass of the settlers. We understand that a Court will be held periodically at Waterford, which will!save the people the expense, attendant on a visit to. Tauranga whenever had any legal business to transact. Our local, Inspector of Police, Mr Emerson, deserves great credit for his efforts to meet the convenience of' the, settlers.
