EAST COAST ELECTION. THE STATE OF THE POLL.
The "Whakatane returns arrived late on Saturday afternoon. They show the following results : — Kelly - 14 Morris 7 Eead 2 Marsh 1 The total number of votes polled by the respective candidates is therefore as follows : — Eead - - - 215 Morris - 206 Kelly - - - 185 Wi Marsh.- - - 10 The official declaration of the poll will not take place until the returns arrive from Poverty Bay.
