The Second Division.
CLASSIFICATION REVISED, The Defence authorities have p oluced a revised scheme of classification for the Second Division (says the Wellington correspondent of the Evening Star). The new soheme has not yet been adopted by Cabinet, but is understood to have the approval of most of the Min isters, who have been impressed by thp protests against tbe obvious of the original classification. The group* iog of the men with one child and two children, and the separation of those over 35 from those under 85, are to be aban doned, The-members of the division are now to be olasßified according to number of chillren—-first, those with no children, then those with one child, thos' with two children, and so on; but men over 40 or 41 years of aro not to be included in the general classification, Thoy will form a class that will not be drawn upon unless the necessity arises. The elimination of the older reservists is in line with the requirements of the military authorities, who prefer not to take men over 40 years of age if younger men can be secured.
