Soldiers Parcels.

- The relatives of the boys at the Front took advantage of the opportunity of forwarding parcels through the Overseas Club, and Mr J. R. Wilson, who undertook the collect ing and packing of same at Milton, report 3 that he has forwarded six oases of parcels, and in addition has sent on three bundles of magazines. A large number of parents took advantage of sending money for paroels to be 1 made up in England, and this will be remitted to the Overseas Club. Mr Wilson's services are gratuitously given for this work, and those residents who left donations towards paroels will no dotibt in due time receive a card from some lonely soldier, as the money has been sent Home with instructions to send' .a parcel to a soldier, tbe donor's name and address being enclosed, A New Zealand soldier of the 11th Reinforcements now in France, writing bo his parents who reside in Milton re soldiers' ouil3 and parcels, wishes to return hia most grateful thanks for the parcel received from the Overseas Club, London, sent by the members of the Clarendon and Milburn Patriotic Society, which reached him on March 17bh in perfect condition, He was more grateful on account) of this being the only parcel he has received since August, 1916. He further writes; Only one parcel has reached me previous to the one mentioned, and T had received no mail of any description since August 20,1916 Later on the same day I received one parcel from you posted on the 5,h August, 1916, also a batch of 45 letters. 1 wrote to the Base Records Office twice, and have at last received word that my mail was beiug attended to, and part of it had been sent on, so 1* may get your other parcels some time, I haV') never been out of France since I landed here from Naw Z3aland, and have recovered from my wounds, I have been in the firing line since tba ficsti week in Novomber, aud after each -spell ther6 it was m st di hearkening to find no mail waning for me. The parent of the writer of the fore tjoing letter writes that through the lourtesy of Sir J vines Allen this unbt'er has been seen to, and the soldiers' ma. h vill probably be more careful y-attended so in future.
