j! (To the Editor). Sir,—l was-pleased to "notice your local in Monday's issue re golf. It is to be sincerely hoped the golf committee will take some Bteps in the mutter in getting our links in playing order, especially the Farmers' Club paddock. As the Balclutlia members are showing considerable enthusiasm this season they will want to play ua. As we won the time cuey cume here, it is to be hoped our members will enter into the spirit of the game, and come out for more practice than at present. Jbut, no doubt, now that our enexgeuo .secretary, lurP DM'Guire, has returned from .his holiday, he will go to work with the committee, and get the grounds in good order, and nave some medal and bogey matolies played in the near luture.—l am, etc , A.
