Tho Milton bowlors' social at St. John's Hall last evening wag attended by some 30 couples, and a very pleasant evening was tbo result. A man from Lawrence way had been celebrating Empire Day, and was arrested on the 24, h May by Constable M'Rae at the Milton Railway Station on a chargo of drunkenness. He was brought before Mr R. M'Kinnon, J.P., and fined 53 and costs. He had on his person in loose notes, gn'd and silver £46 19s 0, and was onrouto to Dunedin wiih a number of ma'es, evidently intending to have a good time. His mates were evidently somewhat disappointed ihat one with so much money on his person should be parted from them, even temporarily.
