NOW-A-DAYS.
"I want you to gn to England to look after a mattei* that needs immediate attention, " said a railroad magnate to his chief Secretary the other day ; "how soon cm you be ready?" The answer was, "in an hour." The young man had crossed the ocean several times and knew what preparations were necessary.
Less than fifty years ago the answer would have been different. It took much time and money Lo cross the ocean in those days, and ample preparations were necessuy if any comfort on the long voyage was to be secured "Round the world in eighty days" is no trick at all now, and tho ordinary honey moon trip will, iv a few years, doubtless include the circumnavigation of the globe. Of course people know a great deai more than they used to ! "Yes, about some things. Thoy know a great deal more about steam power, and its practical uses. They know a little bit — (hey have just penetrated the shell — about Electricity, evidently the most potent of nature's wonderful forces. But there is a great deal more for people to learn yet. " How about flyiog across the ocean ? People laughed about the ocean cable onee — what, telegraph under the sea, nonsense ! " but half a dozen cables are needed for the daily correspondence between London and New York now-a-days. Nothing is impossible. It used to be claimed that Kidney disease was incurable, but in ten years since the introduction of Warner's Safe Cure, thousands upon thousands of people have sent in to the pioprietors of thafc remedy, voluntary testimonials declaring that they have been cured, in many instances when physicians pronounced their cases incurable. These people know that Warner's Safe Cure cures Kidney disease, because they have been through the experience, and they are anxious their fellow beings should be benefited as they have been. These persons can be found in every community. Ask your friends and neighbors about it. See what they say : — Wangaratta, Victoria, May 21, 18' JO, Messrs H. H. Warner k Co. Ltd., — Gentlemen, " It is probably 20 years aince I first begu n to suffur from congestion of the liver and an obscure disease of the bladder, as Doctors described it. A few years ago additional complications set iv, and finally the symptoms left no room for doubt that Bright's disease of the kidneys had obtained a firm hold, while the bladder complaint was of the most painful nature, and necessitated the removal of the water by artificial means. I became reduced to almost a shadow of my former self, and from weakness, despite overy care taken, came into the most deplorable state. After resorting to the use of Warner's Safe Cure, I found my urinary difficulties to improve, and witb six bottles the action of the organs was so far restored that urination became possible without the aid of an instrument. Subsequent analysis demonstrated the efficacy of the medicine in the total disappearance of albumen. About 40 bottles of Warner's Safe Cure and eight vials of Warner's Safe Pills have entirely removed all my complaints, my weight has increased, and I consider the cure the more startling as I am 71 years of age.
