Wednesday, I 2th Novembeb The Council met at the usual hour. In reply to the Hon. Mr Reynolds, The Hon. Mr Whitaker said Government saw the necessity of legislation re indecent theatricals, but could not introduce a bill this session, owing to press of work and the lateness* of the year. On the motion of the Hon. Col. Whitmore, a return mJ ordered of all Public Works expenditure in, and revenue got from, all districts of the,* Colony during the last ten years, with ths provincial liabilities taken over by the General Government, &c . On the motion of the Hon. t- ir F. D. Bell a return was ordered of all land offered for sale in Ota^o since November, 1877, and revenue received therefrom.
