TOKOMAIRIRO FARMERS' CLUB.

9 , . ■ The Annual Show Committee held a meeting in the Council Chambers on Tuesday evening. Present — Mr Robert Murray, President j Mr D. M'Donald, Vice-President : Mr James lngli?, Secretary : Messrs George Lindsay, J. Allison, J. *300 all, D. Tweedie, J. Sutherland, J. Chalmers, J. Hislop, Eraser, Dv hie Hamilton. The Minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. Tenders for printing hand-bills and cards were received, and the Bkcce Hkrald's " was accepted, on the notion of Mr D. Tweedie, seconded by Mr J. Goodall. Mr Allison suggested that in future prizemedals should be done away with, and books be given instead. He made a motion to that effect, which was seconded by Mr D. Tweedie. The Chairman ruled that this could not be carried out at present. Considerable discussion took place on the subject, several members being in favor of the alteration. Mr George also agreed with the motion, but thought it was too late now to enter on the subject. The Chairman said that before a resolution to that i ffect could be passed, they would have to rescind a portion of former minutest, and that Could not be done at a Committee meeting. ■ The subject was therefore abandoned for the present, and medals will be given as formerly. The revision of the list of prizes was then resumed and was finished after a careful scrutiny. One or two fresh names were also added to the list of judges. This was all the business before the Committee, and the meeting adjourned at 9 p.m.
