MOSGIEL SCHOOL EXAMINATION.

The public examination of the scholars attending the Mosgiel School was held on Thursday, Ist February, 1872, in the drill shed, in the presence of the members of the School Committee, parents of the children, and others. The examination was conducted by the Rev. Wm. Will, assisted by the teacher, Mr Lees, and at the close of the proceedings the Rev. Wir. Will expressed his satisfaction with the general proficiency of the scholars, r.nd with the conducting of the school in general. Mr P. Day also addressed the children, and urged all to even greater diligence than ever, and reminded them of the ad vantages of a good education in every day life. The prizes were awardod as follows : — History— Ist, C. Steadman. Advanced Reader— lst, J. Carlyle.
