Exemptions.—Provided 'that the attendance shall not be required of young persona in any one of the following cases: (a) Thait .they aire unable to attend i by reason of bodily dnifirmity. Hours of Attendance.—Attendance shall be on at least two separate eveuiiiings of each week fironi 7 to 7.30 to 9 1 or 9.30, as miay be arranged. A young person shall' be deemed to be dm aittsndamce ait a o'liass if he is present at the time prescribed for the marking of the attendance register, and rei main's present until the closing of the class. ' Registration.—The committee shall keep a register of young persons between til,e ages of fourteen and seventeen in its district. The name, of every pupil shall be registered in the admission register of tlie school, and there shall be pro cur ed on hi s bell alf •fooiin, has last teacher -a statement dle-tail-in-g the mature of ih'is loonduet, progress,' arid aptitudes ; and if his conduct and progress at the Technical School be satisfactory his name shall be put on the register of the. employment bureau of his school■■ and every effort will be made by the school authorities to procure his advancement in his chosen walk of life. Certificates.—Gertficates of competency will be awarded to all pupils who complete to the satisfaction" of the board a term of not less than two years at the school, and tp the most meritorious pupils prizes and scholarships may be awarded. Course of Instruction.—For those pupils who have obtained Standard VI. certificates of proficiency, the course of instruction shall iin .•evefriy" case be as far as possible adapted to the needs of the pupils, and shall be determined by tho director after consultation with the pupil or with the pupil and his parent or guardian. Pupils who have not obtained the abovementioned certificates will take, a eourisia of subjects which wiil'l enable them to sit for an examination by the board's inspector in the Various subjects, and, if proficient, will be granted certificates enabling free places to be taken at the Technical (school in any desired course* of work. School Rules.—Pupils must obey the rules of the school. They are required to present themselves in a clean and ticly condition, to respect school property, to be well-behaved oil thedlr way t.o aind from scihooil; t® be respectful to their teachers, and t-o comply with such other condiitons_ as may be imposed for the maintaining of discipline. A report will be sent at the end of each term to the parent or guardian of each pupil indicating progress and conduct. Administration of Regulations Delegated to Technical .School Committees.—The board delegates to technical school committees, acting on the advice of the .director of the school, the administration of these- regulations, and the direct superintendence and management of the technical school, but in all cases the board will be directly represented on the committee. It shall be the duty of the committee to appoint a sub-committee which shall be called the attendance committee, comprising not more than five members, who shall perform the executive, work of the- committee, and who in matters appertaining to attendance, shall report to the committee at the usual meetings. . The- committee may, with the advice of the director, recommend to the board the appointment of instructors, courses of instruction, and also make such other recommendations as may tend to enhance the well-being and usefulness of the school. Oases of Dispute.—ln cases in which the pupils' parents or guardians dispute the ruling of the committee, appeal shall be made to the board, whose decision shall bo final.
