That the Government be requested to bring in legislation providing that the Grown shall pay rates on' properties taken hy the Government until a reliable occupier comes into occupation: That the attention of the Government be drawn to the fact that where educational reserves are leased "for short periods the local authority cannot levy rates, and that the Government, be requested to introduce legislation under, which it would pay rates on these reserves. That the additional charge of 10 per cent should become payable after six months from the date upon which rates first became recoverable, irrespective of whether they are sued for or not. That the. Eating Act should be also amended by providing for the amalgamation of rates levied over the-samc area on the same basis. That a returning officer should supply the Town Clerk with a marked roll after each election* to enable him to purge the roll at the dates fixed by the Municipal Corporations Act.
