PORT ARTHUR.
Capture of Erlangshan Forts* A Stout Resistance. The Baltic Fleet. Klado Recommends Its Recall. London, December 29. The "Daily Telegraph" states that the Japanese blew up the parapets of Erlangshan. A furious assault followed, and continnes. Sydney, Dec. 30.
The Japanese consul received a cablegram to-night stating that Erlangshan had fallen into Japanese hands.

London, December 29.
' Renter's Tokio correspondent states that the Japanese occupied the entire Erlangshan forts yesterday.
The official message states the left centre at ten on Wednesday morning blew up a ; parapet in front of Erlungshan, carrying the parapet by' an assault, and constructing defensive works under the cover of heavy guns.
Later they assaulted and captured the interior of the fort, and eventually after a stout resistance captured the whole by nightfall.

The Russian service journals strongly recommend the recall of the Baltic fleet, unless able to await the third fleet.
Captain Klado declares that Admiral Rozhdestvensky is doomed unless the third squadron is despatched immediately.
