+ (Per Press Association.) (Ry Electric Telegraph— Copyright.) Adelaide, Feb. 1 26. Mr Ord Hume, in a speech in the matter of bands, said that both Australia and New Zealand were far in advance of what he had anticipated. There were three bands in Australia worthy to take a foremost place amongst the leading bands of Britain, and the New Zealand bands were slightly better. He recommended regular contests between Australia and New Zealand to improve band music. He advised Australia to send a crack band to England next month, and so follow the example of New Zealand.
