LARRIKINISM.
• (To The Editor.) Sir,— lt is with grief, yet we feel it our duty, to draw your attention (as well as those who are interested in the. progress and welfare of Danevirke) to the fact that larrikinism and mischievousness are growing and becoming fashionable here in this peaceful (used to be) township. We notice,, and have done so on several occasions, that certain individuals find great pleasure in doing harm, or destroying private property ; yes, and are even bold enough to do so in the main street. Last evening someone found nothing better to. do than bursting our gate (opposite Mr Baker's private resicleuce) open ? hy pulling a, 3 jnoh
staple out,' which held the gate, in conjunction with a 12 inch local made tower bolt. We presnme: it was his or their intention to let our horses out. Fortunately, there are two gates, of which the "villians perhaps were not aware, the last leading from the yard to horse paddock (and was closed), otherwise our horses would have been out on the street, thus undoubtedly causing us a deal of unpleasantness, as well as a poundage (second time) of about 555. We sincerely hope that some of these villians may be caught in the action and be punished, as it may then be a lesson t« others.— We are, etc., RONBERG AND CIAUSEN.-
