RANDWICK RULE
SUPERVISION' OF JOCKEYS Jockeys were told by the stewards at Randwick recently that in future they will not be permitted- to leave the jockeys' room till after they have fulfilled their engagements for the day. Jockeys who leave the room early will be unable to return till after the last race unless they get special permission from the stewards. Jockeys cannot be supplied with refreshments from outside without, special permission. In future, light refreshments will be supplied in the jockeys' room. The chief steward. Mr. J. Donohoe, said that anyone infringing these rulings would be dealt with. Vice-chairman of the A.J.C., Mr. A. G. Potter, denied a suggestion that the rulings were framed to prevent people communicating with, or conveying messages to, jockeys befoi-e races.
