REMOVAL OF CONTROL
MANUFACTURE OF RADIOS O.c. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The control over the manufacture of radios will be removed as from August 31, according to an announcement by the Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan, this afternoon. The Minister said that with the end of the manufacturing of military radio receiving sets in sight it was necessary to take steps to allow the radio industry ample time to prepare for the production of domestic receivers. By August 31 most of the military work would have been finished. It was hoped that this notice would enable factories to make preparations for the change to be .brought about without loss of production.
