DUTCH HOSPITAL SHIP
AWARDS TO STAFF MEMBERS P.A. WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, at Government House this afternoon presented tn behalf of the King awards to two members of the staff of the 1 spital ship Oranje in recognition of signal service rendered by them in the care and comfort of New Zealand and Australian servicemen niieu reu'.rf.ing to their homeland in the hospital 3h:p. Tne recipients were Colonel J. C. Geravds. of the Ju-ya: Netherlands Indies Army 'mcdical service), to whom his Excellency presented the insignia of Honorary Commander of the Military Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and Matron K. A. J. van der Roest, of the Netherland Indies Red Cross, who received the insignia of Honorary Member of the Royal Red Cross. In addition to Lady Newall, among those present at the ceremony were the Prime Minister, -Mr. Eraser, the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones, the Consul General for the Netherlands. M. I l '.
