N.S.W. MINES IDLE
GAS RATIONING PROBABLE SYDNEY, Aug. 13. Coal production at 26 mines on the South Maitland fields, New South Wales, ceased at 11 o'clock last night because of the decision of the South Maitland Deputies' Association to call a general strike of its members. It is authoritatively stated that if the field is idle for more than three days this week gas rationing will be inevitable in Sydney.
