Rec. noon. LONDON. August 10. A landmark in British banking history was reached at the end of July when the combined assets of the 11 clearing banks for the first tme exceeded £5.000,000,000. The latest nßure, £5 062 000,000, is nearly twice the pre-war total. Deposits are still rapidly rising.
