An amendment has been made by the Arbitration Court to the New Zealand flourmill employees' award providing for an increase of 3id an hour in wages to adult workers employed on an hourly basis. Increases granted to boys and youths range from 4/ to 10/ a week, and those for female workers range from 4/ to 7/6. • A dissenting opinion by Mr. A. L. Monteith states that the rate fixed of £3 a week for adult females, after tax deduction, leaves only £2 17/3, which he doe? not consider sufficient on which to live.
