First Report Of British Land Aircraft In Action YOKOHAMA AND TOKOYAMA HIT Rec. 1.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Aug. 7. Tokyo radio says 40 planes attacked the Tokyo-Yokohama area this morning. Several British planes participated. The Associated Press comments that this is the first report of British aircraft other than the car-
rier planes with the Third Fleet to hit Japan. General Spaatz's communique says that approximately 135 Super Fortresses, escorted by fighters, based on Iwo Jima, struck Tokoyarna naval arsenal with high explosives at noon to-day with excellent results.
