KARAPIRO POWER WORFS The statement that the quota of carpenters required for the Karapiro power project was filled for the time being and, furthermore, that the work had been held up owing to lack of material, was made by the district manpower officer's representative, Mr. J. Muncaster, when a carpenter, Robert Mulloy, aged 19, asked the Manpower Committee this morning for a postponement of his direction to the Karapiro works for three months. Appellant explained that he was getting married next month, and had to complete arrangements for obtaining a flat and buying a section. The committee reserved its decision.
