A CONFUSION OF NAMES
Permit me please to make a slight correction in my article on Archbishop Averill's book, "Fifty Years in New Zealand," which was published on Saturday week. The Canon Coats mentioned therein was not the present Vicar of St. Matthew's. Common sense should have told me that such could not have been the case, for Canon George Coats is not yet a septuagenarian, as he would certainly need to be had he been the Vicar of Lyttelton in 1594.
