A canvas; ten lengths. The Australian Air Force won in a grand fighting finish after rowing stroke for stroke with the Barnes Club throughout the race. The New Zealanders. who sadly lacked condition, dropped behind quite early. Thy Barnes crew was stroked by Bert Barry, ex-world's professional sculling champion. ■
