A minimum of four years' secondary school education at end of present year up to University Enbranco standard is required. A nigh standard of physique, appearance end personality is sought and each applicant should be able to demonstrate a fondness for farming. 1 Training period is for a term of five years, during which Cadets will be placed on various types of farms, receiving current award rates of pay. During -this training they will be required to undertake a correspondence course in selected agricultural subjects and each year will submit to a progressive test. They will also be given short courses at Massey and Lincoln Agricultural Colleges, culminating in a full year's course at Lincoln College to qualify for the Diploma of Valuation and Farm Management. Cost of 1 training at an Agricultural College or elsewhere than -on a farm will be paid in full for the Cadet and there will be addend a pocket money , payment on a graduated scale. Cadets will pay their own superannuation " contributions based upon rates of salary paid to clerical Cadets in the Public Service. ' Parents or guardians will be required to give a bond indemnifying the Public Service Commissioner in the sum of £ 150 or such part thereof as the Commissioner in his absolute dis- \ cretion deems proper should the Cadet leave , the scheme before the completion of his training ' or leave the Public Service before a period of four years has elapsed after the completion of his training.
