A jury in the Supreme Court awarded £460 damages to J. HillMotion, veterinary surgeon, who claimed £1000 damages from \V. J. Crawford, printer, for alleged malicious prosecution.
The case was the sequel to HillMotion being proceeded against by Crawford in the Magistrate's ..Court on' a complaint 'that he committed perjury during the hearing of a previous Supreme Court action regarding of the sale of the racehorse Rajputana to a Sydney buyer. In the last-mentioned action the purchaser successfully prosecuted a claim that the racehorse was sold to him under a misrepresentation as to its soundness.
The entering of judgment in the current action was postponed until Friday to enable counsel for defendant to raise a nonsuit point.
