SECRET AIR BASE
SWEDISH AID TO NORWAY STOCKHOLM. American Dakota aircraft, operate ing from a secret base at Luleaa, in North Sweden, transported 1000 wellequipped Norwegian police-troops to Kirkenes, and took food, medicines, and arms to barracks elsewhere in the north of Norway. The Dakotas began operations at the beginning of the year. One of the officers in charge was the well-known Norwegian aviator Colonel Balchen.
