FLAYER'S SUSPENSION An appeal against the suspension of A. Ellis for five years on the grounds that fresh evidence had been obtained and it was decided to reopen the case, was received from the Watersiders' Club at lust evening's meeting of the Control Board of the AuckMnd Football Association. "The decision has been confirmed by the New Zealand Council, so the application and the fresh evidence should be sent to the council," said the chairman, Mr. n. A. Williams. Following some discussion on the procedure which should be adopted, it was decided to forward the appeal to the council for instructions. Arising out of a suggestion from Thistle Club, it was agreed that a senior A and B match be played on September 1 as a curtain-raiser to the Auckland-Combined Services' game. The board agreed that the Service selectors, C.P.O. Harper (Navy). Lieutenant A. L. Smith (Army) and Flying-Officer J. Watt (Air Force) should" have first call on servicemenplayers. Mr. .1. Ilowatt. Auckland selector, was appointed to choose the senior A team and Mr. P. Neesham the senior 'B eleven. The New Zealand Council advised that arrangements had been made for the playing of the North Island final for the Chatham Cup between South Auckland and Wellington, winners at Blandford Park on August IS. It was decided that entries for the Falcon Cup contest be received from senior A and B teams up to August 8. A challenge for the Munro Cup, which was retained by R.N.Z.A.F.
