DEATH OF SOLDIER
EXPLOSION PRESUMED P.A. MASTERTON, this day. In connection with the death of Albert Wilde, soldier, it appears that he went into the bush on Saturday and set a booby trap for wild pigs. The trap was arranged with a hand grenade and sprung by electric contact from a torch battery. It is presumed that while Wilde was shifting the trap on Sunday the grenade exploded and killed him.
