MOTOR CAR PRICES
O.C. WANGANUI, Friday. "It is impossible at the moment to give anything definite on the question of new car prices, but we think you will be safe in assuming that the price range will be apDroximately 100 per cent higher ~ than before the war," states a circular letter to a Wanganui motor dealer from the distributors of an English make of motor vehicles. "We are expecting shipments of both cars and commercial vehicles before the end of 1945 in small quantities, but they will be the subject of priority permits, as it will not be possible to make indiscriminate sales," adds the circular. •Latest copies of English motor magazines disclose that prices there have rocketed. Local makes vary considerably, but American vehicles are bringing much higher figures than similar cars in New Zealand.
