NEW CAPITAL ISSUES
AUSTRALIAN DEVELOPMENTS Company debenture and share capital sought by public issues so far this year amounts to £3,090,847, reports an Australian paper. Of this total, debenture issues account lor £2,615,000 and share issues for £475,847. The debenture figure is swollen by the inclusion of the current issue of £2,250.000 in Australian Paper Manufacturers. Ltd. Three other companies have raised capital In this form. Interest rates range from 4 per cent to £3 6/3 per cent. ■■•■-, , .... Eight companies have made share issues, including three 6 per cent preference Issues, one of which at £100,000 is the largest amount to be raised this year. The new capital market has been slightly more active durng the last year or so, particularly since the restraint of the authorities was eased towards the end of last year. New share issues for the whole of 1944 totalled £2,820,737 for 18 companies. In 1943 the amount was £674.258, In which 11 companies participated.
