I D.S.C. FOR NORTHCOTE MAN P.A. WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Distinguished Service Cross has been, awarded to TemporaryLieutenant- P. G. Millener, R.N.Z.N.V.R., for services in destroying the German submarine U3OO on February 19. The son of Mr. G. Millener, of 79 Princes Street, Northcote, Lieutenant Millener was born in Auckland in 1916.. Before joining the Roval New Zealand Navy as an ordinary seaman under scheme B in August, 1941, he was an accountant. After completing his training overseas he was promoted to temporary-sub-lieutenant, Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve, in September, 1942, and to temporary-lieutenant in September, 1943.
