CHANGE OF PLANS
KILMANAGH FOR RICCARTON Special. PALMERSTON NORTH, Tuesday. A change of plans has been made in the itinerary of the Wellington Winter Steeples winner, Kilmanagh, which was to have gone out for a spell after the Memorial Steeplechase at Hastings. Her owner-breecler, Mr. J. B. Fletcher, stated to-day that the poundage allotted the Siegfried mare in the Grand National Steeplechase had been considered attractive, and that this improving young mare would go south on Tuesday, sidestepping the Hawke's Bay Hunt meeting on August ■I.
Kilmanagh came through her racing at Trentham in excellent order, anrl has done everything right since then. Under her handy impost of 9.12 she promises to play a prominent part in the big crosscountry event next week, her .lumping ability and stamina attracting attention to her prospects.
