A FURTHER REMAND
ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE
ROTORUA, this day.
The police were granted a further remand until July 24 when Henry Reginald Edwards, aged 60, a Maori bush worker, appeared to-day before Messrs. O. H. Coleman and T. H. Eloane, J.P.'s, charged with attempting to/ murder Christopher McDonald at Rerewhakaitu on June 27.
In applying for the remand, Detective-Sergeant A. J. White explained that McDonald, who was severely injured in an alleged shooting affraj-, was not yet in a fit condition to give evidence and the case would not, in fact, be heard in the Rotorua Magistrate's Court until August 2.
An application for bail by the accused's counsel, Mr. J. D. Davys, was refused.
