MORE APPEALS HEARD
Further appeals against decisions of land sales committees were heard by the Land Sales Court in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon. A. J. Wells (Mr. Fleming) appealed against the North Auckland Land Sales Committee fixing the selling price of a section at Big Omaha, near Matakana, at £60. Appellant had sold the section, which was one of a subdivision of about 50 sections, at £75.
Several valuers valued the section at prices ranging from £80 to £100. The Crown valuer considered it worth £50.
An area of 3 roods 8 perches at the corner of Great South Road and Green Park Road, Penrose, which the appellant, J. H. Hubber (Mr. Fawcett) had sold to B. J. McKendrick for £1150, but which the Urban Land Sales Court had consented to the sale at £800, was said to be situated in the industrial zone.
J. D. Campbell, for the appellant, valued the property at £1112, but the district valuer, J. D. Mahoney, for the Crown, placed his valuation at £SOO.
In each appeal decision was reserved.
