War • Memorial Museum:. . , .. ~ . , 0 cher gifts include a finely made model canoe from Tarawa Island, in the Gilbert Group, from Major D. Wernham; a beautifully designed Georgian teaset, dated 1809, from Mr. R. O. Horton; a flag of the Chinese Republic, from the Auckland Chinese Association; and a series of proclamations issued by the Allied Military Government in Italy, from Major Brook. A wooden talking gong from the . Belgian : Congo has been deposited by Dr. H. T. Knights. The first major purchase from the Edward O. Vaile trust fund has resulted in the acquisition of an important Maori collection from Thames.
