OMAHA SEASIDE SECTION

Arising out of a subdivision for seaside sections at. Big Omaha, near Matakana, consideration was given by the Land Sales Court to the value of one of 45 sections. The section had been sold by A. J. Wells (Mr. Fleming) to A. J. Hastie for £75, 'and the North Auckland Land Sales Committee fixed the price at £60. Mr. W. S. Kent appeared for the Crown.

G. B. Osmond, land valuer, said the subdivision was three miles from Warkworth, with .good access, and having reference to values in similar seaside subdivisions he valued the section concerned, of 1 rood 14 poles, at £100. It had a sea frontage. To Mr. Kent witness said the beach was not a white sand one.

The value of the section was placed at £75 by H. Walden, land valuer, of Matakana.

For the Crown. Edward Fenton, Government valuer, estimated the value of the section at £50. Comparable sections at Orewa, much nearer Auckland, sold at £65.
