The urgent need for better kindergarten premises was stressed by the retiring president, Mrs. T. Cryer, at the second annual meeting of the Avondale kindergarten, held in the R.S.C. hall, Avondale. Mrs. Cryer said the committee was endeavouring to secure a suitable section and building and she thanked the committee of the Avondale Citizens' and Ratepayers' Association for their untiring efforts in this direction. Appreciation was expressed of the work of Miss Deuxberry, the director of the kindergarten. The following officers were elected:—President, Mrs. B. Hellriegel; vice-president, Mrs. R. Trainor; treasurer, Mrs. W. Miles; secretary, Mrs. A. J. Moore, and a committee.
