TO MISS GRAND NATIONAL
PLANS FOB KIIjMANAGH
Kilmanagh, winner of the July Steeplechase at Trentham on Saturday, is not to contest the Combined Hunts Steeplechase at Awapunl this week, and is to be relieved of her engagement in the Grand National Steeplechase. • Her owner-breeder, Mr. J. B. Fletcher, made a statement at the week-end that the Siegfried mare would have only one more race this, winter, the Russell Memorial Steeplechase, in which she successfully made her debut over ■ country twelve months ago. Kilmanagh will have to carry a lot more than the minimum on this occasion, but the decision topiit her aside until next season is a wise one, as she is now filling out,' and being a grand' stayer and a good jumper she should play a prominent part in the decision of the leading crosscountry events next winter.
