p.A. ■ WELLINGTON, Monday. After having been down for a count of nine in the third round, Jack McCann, of Wellington, made a great recovery in a professional middle-weight contest held by the Wellington , Boxing Association to-night, to beat Roy Stevens, of Auckland; The latter had to retire in the sixth round with a deep gash over the right eye from which blood flowed freely. It was one of the most thrilling contests seen in Wellington for a long time.
