WEST COAST 9, BUIiLER 8 PX. WESTFORT, Sunday. • West Coast mastered the atrocious weather condltions at Westport on Saturday much better than Buller to beat the Seddon Shield holders by 9 to 8. Rain and hail fell during the game and the bad lieht In the last 15 minutes made It difficult to pick the players. The Coast lorwards played a splendid game under the circumstances. Nelson, B. Constable and R. Birchfleld being outstanding, while J. Lindbom (lull-back)., W Mlllett (winger): &nd M- Thomas (first fiveeighth), played well in the backs, Lindbom eS ß e uner y mlssed its captain; J. Alexander, in the backs but on the day was definitely the inferior S5S£ the score being no indication of the merits of the teams. O. Smallholme, J. Blair- and P. Neighbours were easily the best of the Buller backs and W. Mumm and T. Anderson the pick Coast* Millett scored a try and Lindbom two penalty goals; for Buller, T. Anderson and tT Hansby got tries. F. Neighbours converting one. •
