EX-SERVICEMEN

Protest Campaign Against Australian Bill FULL PREFERENCE WANTED Rec. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, this day. A conference of New South Wales ex-servicemen's associations has decided to set up State-wide machinery to conduct a long-term protest campaign against the provisions of the Re-establishment and Employment Bill.

Ten associations, with an aggregate financial membership of more than 150,000, were represented at the conference, which will draft the Reestablishment and Employment Bill into a form more acceptable to exservicemen. Similar conferences will be held in other States, and Parliament will be subjected to a policy of continued pressure until next year's Federal elections.

The New South Wales conference desires preference for all ex-service-men, whether or not they served outside Australia. Civilian groups, it was agreed, should have no part of the benefits of the bill.
