WAR >ARTIST PRAISED

CAPTAIN McINTYRE'S WORK N.Z.fi.F." Official War' Correspondent TRIESTE, May 21. High" praise -for-the -work of- the New Zealand official war artist, Captain Peter Melntyre; was expressed in a letter written by the distinguished English painter, W. Russell Flint. Writing of Captain Mclntyre's recent exhibition in London, mainly of pictures illustrating New Zealanders in the Italian campaign, Mr. Flint says: "It is excellent. I was delighted. He has just the right balance between artistry, realism and journalistic- vividness for the war artist. I .wish more of our war pictures had his qualities. His picture, 'Bombing Cassino," is-brilliant —quite a mas* terpiece—and his drawings; as well as many of his other paintings, attracted me strongly. He is both.a good draughtsman and a good painter."
