The New South Wales Railway Department has begun a big rolling stock construction * programme to meet post-war air and shipping competition. . • , • -The Programme includes the construction of-25 streamlined 80 m.p.h. locomotives, similar to "those which pull the Melbourne express, eight buffet cars equipped with bars, and 70 air-conditioned carriages, A start with production has been possible by the tapering off of the munitions i programme. '
