TWO CALVES BORN
: Artificial Insemination In [ Australia ; NEW ZEALAND SIRES i Rec. 1.30 p.m. SYDNEY, this day. - The first calves, artificially pro- ' duced in Australia by a sire in another country, were born at 1 Camden Park Estate, near Sydney, a 1 few days ago. Fluid was imported 1 by plane from New Zealand by Mr. • A H Geddes, Department of Agriculture veterinary research officer, nine months ago. Six cows were artificially inseminated in the same experiment. The two calves born last week are healthy, normal stock. Two cows have yet to calve and two are barren. Fluid was brought from ISew Zea- [ land in thermos containers packed 'in ice. To conserve the fluid the temperature must be kept down to 4.5 degrees centigrade. Before Insemination the temperature is raised to normal air temperature.
