IN WAITEMATA COUNTY SATISFACTION EXPRESSED Satisfaction at the rate collection in the \Vaitemata county was expressed at to-day's meeting of the council by several members. A report presented by the clerk, Mr. E. G. Fuller, showed that the total levied for the fipancial year 1944-45 was £59,825, of which £57,656 had been collected to March 31 last, leaving £2169 outstanding Of £3729 outstanding at March 31, 1944, £2085 had been collected during the followr ing year. Advice was received from th.e Counties' Association that the RagJan County Council, in its applies tion for an increase on the 5 per cent paid by the Main Highways Board on holiday pay, had beeji informed that district engineers in the works Department' had been instructed to arrange for the 'payment of 8 1-3 per cent. The clerk stated the council had been receiving the increased amount for several months.
